Sustainability isn’t just sort of a glamorous process of using recycled materials to design something that may or may not be the color green. It’s about redesigning every single aspect of a company’s process, from sourcing materials to designing to production to shipping, and then eventually designing a way for those products to be disposed of responsibly. That’s a mammoth task, so it’s no wonder that designers and manufacturers are finding it so difficult.

AIGA, the professional association for design, invited designers from across the US to create nonpartisan posters that inspire the American public to participate in the electoral process and vote for a presidential candidate in the 2008 general election. Top submissions will be professionally printed and distributed nationally in August.

Use your cell phone to find parking in SF

Living in a city like San Francisco where the positives of public transportation out-weigh the negatives, it isn’t necessary to have a car. Considering how much gas has shot up in recent years, it’s a blessing not to rely on a car to get around the city.

The main reason I left behind my car when I moved up here two years ago was this: PARKING IS A BITCH!

However, for those with cars who still choose to do laps around the block in search of parking, there’s hope:
